What I enjoy most about bodywork: Helping people see that they do not have to live this life in constant physical pain or discomfort. To be able to share with my clients that relief is always available, and with so many other benefits!

Biography: I grew up in Elk River, MN, and lived there for almost my entire life, living in Minneapolis for a few years, then returning home. I had never really known what I wanted to do, but two things kept coming to mind; music and massage therapy. During my time in Minneapolis, I met a wonderful musician and friend, who performed mainly at the Minnesota Renaissance Festival with a band mate. I have been pursuing my love for music with them, and have been performing musically now for 5 years. In 2010, I decided to make a change in my life. I found Anthem College, enrolled in their massage therapy program, and was amazed at how much we learned! The human body is a wondrous thing! I graduated in February of 2012, while working at a massage establishment near Elk River. During my schooling, I was engaged to my now husband, who has lived in Duluth almost his entire life. Just before the wedding, I moved to Duluth, and had the privilege of becoming a part of the Eagles Nest team. My hobbies are making music, laughing with friends and family, and getting lost in the wonders of the planet and universe.

My massage style: I am known for putting clients to sleep. Even my deep work is very relaxing. I use a lot of slow, relaxing strokes, using different amounts of pressure, depending on the client’s needs. Then, I change it up with some stimulating strokes to focus on a particular area of tension.

Hours: Monday 3:00pm-9:00pm, Tuesday 8:00am-2:00pm,  Thursday 8:00am-2:00pm, and every other Sunday 12:00pm–6:00pm

  • All Eagles Nest wellness classes currently take place at the Unitarian Universalist Congregation of Duluth located at 835 W College St. Duluth.
     
    Developed by Sue Hitzmann, manual therapist, exercise physiologist and founding member of the Fascial Research Society, you will learn easy techniques to quickly hydrate connective tissue while allowing the body to release long held tension. MELT techniques re-balance nervous system regulators and boost the body's natural healing and repair mechanisms. MELT helps relieve aches and stiffness, improve performance, and erase the negative effects of aging. With MELT you can transform your body in as little as ten minutes a day. This class covers hand and foot protocols which is the starting point for learning the MELT method. A hand and foot kit will be provided during class for you to use in class and kits can be purchased at Eagles Nest Massage Therapy or on-line.
