Eagles Nest Wellness Classes

Introducion to MELT - Beginning QiGong - Building Your Resiliency with Heartmath

We will be staying at the beautiful Catalina Beach Resort on La Ropa Beach.  This week will provide time for you to connect with other wellness-minded women, as well as learn easy renewal practices for yourself.  There will also be lots of time to relax and enjoy the beauty of this wonderful part of Mexico. The Zihuatanejo area provides beautiful beaches with easy access to shade and food/refreshments.  The town of Zihuatanejo provides you the opportunity to experience authentic Mexico – a 20 minute walk (or short taxi ride) from Catalina Beach Resort.  Your room is large and spacious with two queen size beds, sitting area, bathroom with shower, refrigerator, air conditioning and terrace with ocean view.

There will be plenty of free time to relax, explore, shop or to just take in the beauty that surrounds you.  Each day you will have from 9 am on to decide how you want to spend it.  Catalina Beach Resort has one of the nicest spots on the beach to relax under the shade of a palapa on a padded lounge chair – drinks and food are available and are brought right to you.  There is also everything you would want to do on a beach, from parasailing to paddleboarding, getting a ride on a catamaran for an hour or enjoying a massage at one of the massage tents, not to mention swimming in the warm waters of the tropical Pacific.  For those who are interested, each evening we will meet at the hotel’s open air patio bar for happy hour, to watch the sunset, and then head off to our dinner location.  A different restaurant is chosen each night, and they are all within walking distance.  On a couple of evenings, our tables will be in the sand on the beach, within feet of the ocean.  We will go down the beach and listen to a band at an open air restaurant while dining on great food (dancing will happen!).  One evening, we will walk into town to have pizza Mexican-style, and to be part of the Friday evening social scene.  On our last evening we will dine under the stars on at a rooftop restaurant overlooking the bay and the beautifully lit hills of Zihuatanejo.

Our morning wellness class is held on a patio that overlooks a beautiful horseshoe bay, and takes place Monday through Friday 7:30 – 9:00 am. Each session will comprise a combination of learning simple qigong movements, guided meditation, and journaling for self-awareness. Qigong is an ancient Chinese health practice.  It promotes energy flow through the body, and improved health in the body, mind and spirit.  No special clothing is needed.  You will also be provided with information on teachers and groups for qigong practice in Duluth should you wish to continue the practice with a group after your return home, but it is very easy to continue on your own as well.
