Beginning Spring Forest Qigong

Instructor: Marcy Kernez

A revolutionary and modernized form of qigong developed by International Qigong Master Chunyi Lin, SFQ is a simple, effective system of movements and meditations that can be done anywhere, anytime, and by anyone. No equipment is needed, and thousands of practitioners worldwide have reported incredible results.  This is a six class series in which you will learn the Five Element Healing Movements.  There are two weekly practice groups at the location of our class which are open to everyone and available to assist you with your continued practice.

Monday evenings Oct 1st – Nov 5th 5:30 – 6:30 pm

Introduction to MELT

Instructor: Stephanie Linge

Developed by Sue Hitzmann, manual therapist, exercise physiologist and founding member of the Fascial Research Society, you will learn easy techniques to quickly hydrate connective tissue while allowing the body to release long held tension.  MELT techniques re-balance nervous system regulators and boost the body's natural healing and repair mechanisms. MELT helps relieve aches and stiffness, improve performance, and erase the negative effects of aging.  With MELT you can transform your body in as little as ten minutes a day.  This class covers hand and foot protocols which is the starting point for learning the MELT method.  A hand and foot kit will be provided during class for you to use in class and kits can be purchased at Eagles Nest Massage Therapy or on-line.

This one hour class will be offered twice this fall.  Saturday Oct. 20th 10-11am and Saturday Nov. 17th 2-3pm

Build Your Personal Resilience with Heartmath

Instructor: Marcy Kernez

Since 1991, the nonprofit Heartmath Institute has researched and developed reliable, scientifically based tools that bridge the connection between heart and mind which deepen people’s connection with the hearts of others. Very helpful for anxiety and stress in general Heartmath tools empower people to greatly reduce stress, increase resilience and unlock their natural intuitive guidance for making better choices. This is a six class series which includes a workbook that you will receive at the first class.

Spring Forest Qigong

Yoga with Dan
Dan Ohman has taught in the Duluth and Hermantown area for over fifteen years, teaching over 1500 classes through both community education and private classes with companies. He is Yogafit trained and certified while constantly seeking out new poses or techniques. His classes are great for beginners as well as the advanced yoga practitioner of any age or physical ability.
Dan provides everyone their first class free.
Eagles Nest Members receive a second class free when it follows their first class by one week.


Grihastashrami Yoga
Bonnie Williams Ambrosi began teaching yoga in 1991 at Lynda Mitchell Yoga Studio in Bloomington, Indiana.  In 1994 she completed Integral Yoga certification at Satchidananda Ashram in Buckingham County, Virginia and later returned to the ashram for additional training in yoga philosophy.  From 2008 to 2010, Bonnie studied with scoliosis authority Elise Browning Miller, and is one of only a handful of teachers in the Midwest certified in Yoga for Scoliosis.  Bonnie also holds a certificate in Ayurvedic Health Education from the American Institute of Vedic Studies (1996) under the direction of Dr. David Frawley.

Women Circling Women
Stacy Holden is a certified Whole Birth Prenatal & Postnatal Yoga Instructor and Blooma Pre-natal Yoga Instructor. She is actively involved in the birth community. She is the founder of the Birth & Baby Fair that has been bringing the birthing community together since 2007. She has been sitting in birth circles in our community since 2004. She has received training as a birth doula, and was an accredited La Leche League Leader. A homeschooling mother of four, Stacy loves sharing with others the challenges and joys of birth and motherhood. Women Circling Women helps pregnant women and Mamas create circles that support them and their growing families. Class time includes discussion and support with other pregnant women, yoga, and a deep relaxation. This yoga class is a great compliment to any childbirth education program.

Marcy began her training with a Bachelors of Science degree from the University of Minnesota in Occupational Therapy.  She then went onto massage training, is one of the founders and now owner of Eagles Nest Massage Therapy which was established in 1990.  She has practiced both Spring Forest Qigong as well as Heartmath techniques for many years and is certified for teaching both at the level our classes are offered.

Stephanie has been a massage therapist with Eagles Nest for the past six years and began her interest in Melt Method a number of years ago.  She experienced first-hand the differences in her own body when using the techniques as well as her clients whom she shared the information with.  This inspired her to learn more and become a certified trainer in the class she is currently offering.  Stephanie is also a musician and you may have seen her playing at the Renaissance Festival in Shakopee, MN as she and her husband are there playing most weekends when it is open.
